Located off the southwest side of the island, the sight of the Water Bungalows are phantasmagorical, which present a sense of timelessness and peace. The plush over water timber bungalow consist with colourful furniture, walls adorned with artwork, a king size bed with white linen sheets, wooden flooring, dressing table, wardrobe, private deck, modern amenities are air conditioner, mini bar, tea/coffee making, satellite TV and IDD telephone facility. The long windows in the Water Bungalow give you a sight of the blue ocean. The windows are blacked-out, where you can see outside but no one can see inside.

To the left of the room, there is the fully tiled bathroom with a separate shower space, a jacuzzi, bidet and double hand basin. Adjacent to the bathroom, there is another door which leads to the balcony with two resting beds and your own private staircase which leads to the lagoon. Overall, the Beach bungalows have sunset-hued drapes and decor accents, ceramic tile floors, and personal patios that empty directly onto the white sand. These spacious rooms can be quite dim, despite the number of actual lights throughout. There are contemporary love seats and vanity stools that give a bit of much-needed style oomph. These air-conditioned rooms, built on the beachfront, facing the white sand beach and the crystalline waters that hug its shores. The structure is charming, personal and romantic. Beach Bungalow has a separate entrance onto the white sand beach in front and a private landscaped courtyard.

Air-conditioned Garden Bungalows, built with a dual-level design and beds on separate levels, they are also suited to anyone traveling with an older child looking for a simple, no-frills room. These rooms have white tile floors, turquoise fabric and paint accents, dark varnished wood panelling, and stairs to their lofty levels. The bottom floor of each is home to the lounge space, a built-in single bed, closet, fridge, mini-bar, tea & coffee making and shower-only tiled bathroom, while upstairs, there’s a king-size bed and second outdoor deck.

Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives gives its guests a choice of bed and breakfast, half-board, full-board, and all-inclusive meal plans. There are three restaurant areas in the resort where you can enjoy variety of food choices, local & international cuisines plus a corner filled with nightly rotating themed dishes. From fresh salad, pasta, and pizza stations, to tandoori ovens baking naan, and pots of sauerkraut, stir-fry, and chocolate mousse, you will never get bored, everyday there is something different and featured several food stations. Dining rooms and seats are assigned depending on room and category. Koimala Garden Restaurant serves the majority of the guests in a casual and large, double-room venue in between the beach and the garden paths. This beachfront buffet restaurant specialised in international cuisine and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. Children’s menu is also available. Maakana Restaurant is a much smaller circular spot, located down by Raahlu Bar. It serves all three meals. Rehendi Restaurant and Bar is a stylised restaurant which serves only for the guests who are staying in the Water Suites. The venue stands out as having its own dedicated bar, large ocean-view deck, and small, chilled wine room.

You should purchase a meal package when booking the resort where the all-inclusive package which entitled three meals during your stay and unlimited alcoholic drinks. If you are a light drinker then you can easily get by with the half-board option which serves lunch and dinner.

Cinnamon Dhovenli has two large main bars, Raalhu Bar and Raiyvilaa Bar & Coffee Shop. Raahlu Bar is a casual oceanside spot located along the southwestern edge of the island, and has sand floors, a pool table, and a small entertainment area. With prime views of Pasta Point, it’s a natural hangout spot for visiting surfers who grab a few brews on the expansive wooden deck while watching other surfers catching some waves in the twilight. Raiyvilaa Bar & Coffee Shop sees more guests drinking alcohol than sipping espresso, and serves afternoon tea (for all-inclusive guests only). Located just beyond the pool, this bar seems to have it all, a massive deck with crashing waves, bean bags, a library, foosball, and an afternoon snack service (for all-inclusive guests only). It shares walls with the gym and a couple of boutiques.

Cinnamon Dhonveli also has a pool area with a massive wooden deck area where guests can lounge on plastic loungers. There is also a small and shallow kids pool just off the main pool, complete with mushroom waterfall. To get a break from the family or just to relax, guests can head over to the Chavana Spa. Using Elemis products for treatments, this spa has bungalow treatment rooms in a garden setting, and a central hut for nail treatments. Treatment rooms have hydro-showers with tiny built-in saunas.

Though Cinnamon Dhonveli earned its prestige as a surf resort in Maldives, there is another side; there is a gorgeous, super calm white sand beach where you can snorkel right from the shore. If you prefer to snorkel outside the lagoon area, there are some snorkelling trips organised by the resort staff. One of the most popular snorkelling trips are turtle snorkelling tour. You can even rent a kayak and spend a day out on the water. For those who are feeling adventurous there is an in-house dive resort where you can give scuba diving a try on an intro dive, do your full open water dive course or if you’re already certified head out to some of the surrounding dives sites.
